Profile Highlights

FLEXIBILITY AND CHOICE
Choose from a wide variety of Pure and Applied electives, from Digital Electronics to Mathematics for Computer Science to Technical Drawing. If Computer Science is your thing, take up to five courses on this subject during your four semesters.

ENRICHED COURSES AND ACTIVITIES
As an Honours student, you will get first-hand exposure to different career options through visits to professional research laboratories and special guest seminars given by accomplished Montreal educators. In your first semester, you will take enriched courses and Honours courses alongside other students in the Honours profile. Enriched courses move at a faster pace, cover additional topics, and present more challenging problems, while Honours courses emphasize learning activities that focus on science communication. Although you will learn the course material in greater depth, you will still take the same final exam as regular Science students.

CLOSE-KNIT COMMUNITY
Marianopolis offers an unmatched level of personalized support, with smaller class sizes, peer tutoring, and expert faculty whose doors are always open to give you the help you need outside the classroom. Our students tell us that the Science program is all about collaboration, not competition. Our supportive and motivating environment will empower you to reach your full potential. As an Honours student, you will be assigned a faculty member as a mentor. Your mentor will advise and guide you on academic matters, scientific research, and the Épreuve synthèse de programme (sometimes called the Comprehensive Assessment), which is the final project you must complete to graduate.

“When I first came to Marianopolis, I knew I had a strong interest in the sciences, but I wasn’t exactly sure which specific discipline I wanted to zero in on. I had this growing curiosity about climate science, yet deciding between focusing on physics or chemistry was still up in the air. Thankfully, the comprehensive science curriculum at Marianopolis gave me the perfect platform to dive deep and explore.”
