Why Choose Marianopolis?
Unique heritage
Founded in 1908, Marianopolis is Quebec’s only English-language college specializing in pre-university studies. We cherish a rich tradition that stretches back decades before the cégep system, when the College granted Bachelors degrees in the arts and the sciences through historic affiliations with local universities. Today, Marianopolis proudly offers 6 pre-university DEC programs and 3 Double DECs to a diverse community of about 2,000 motivated students from all backgrounds, drawn from over 170 secondary schools from across Quebec and abroad.
Vibrant community
Because college is more than preparing for university. It’s also a time for self-discovery and having fun. Marianopolis has more student clubs than any other college (over 100!) and we are the only college with two 90-minute universal breaks between classes each week. That’s time set aside for you to take advantage of our many extracurricular, athletic and enriching activities, so you can get involved in a cause that you care about, discover new interests, form lifelong friendships, and enjoy our beautiful campus nestled in green space.
Academic excellence
Year after year, no other college matches our record of academic excellence. Not only do Marianopolis students tend to have the strongest R-Scores and the highest on-time graduation rate in Quebec, they occupy more spots in highly competitive university programs than all other Montreal colleges combined. Our students’ success is thanks in large part to our dedicated faculty and staff, who inspire and challenge our students to reach their full potential and provide a level of personalized attention that you won’t find at most colleges. Our results speak for themselves:
Students with the same high school average do better and graduate on time in higher numbers at Marianopolis than they do elsewhere.
The majority of Marianopolis students have an R-Score above 30, making them eligible for most competitive university programs.
Here are some examples of Marianopolis students’ eligibility for popular competitive programs in Montreal universities.
