  • Government aid

The Quebec Government Student Loans and Bursaries Program, Aide financière aux études (AFE), gives interest-free loans based on need, not academic performance, for the duration of full-time studies. It also gives gifts of money, called bursaries, to qualifying students who have already been awarded the maximum loan.

The AFE’s assistance assessment simulator gives an approximate idea of how much of a loan a student can expect. Pre-existing loans can also be re-assessed in the event of a change in personal circumstances.

Students who are not sure whether they are eligible for AFE, or  have any other questions about financial aid, should contact the College to discuss their individual situation.

  • Tuition credits and books credits

To offset the cost of tuition and textbooks, the College provides tuition credits and book credits to students who have first received a loan or bursary from the Quebec Government Student Loans and Bursaries Program, Aide financière aux études (AFE).

Make sure you have first received and deposited your loan or bursary from AFE. The College will send you a MIO to confirm the amounts of your tuition credit and your book credit. The amounts awarded to you will be based on the availability of funds, your parents’ income, your program of study, and your particular situation. If you are awarded a tuition credit or book credit in a given semester, you will automatically be considered again in future semesters, as long as you maintain your eligibility for AFE.

If you are not sure whether you are eligible for financial aid from the College or from AFE, or if you have any other questions about financial aid, please contact the College to discuss your individual situation.
