Science Student Will Represent Canada at International Physics Olympiad
July 2023 – Pure & Applied Science student Wenhe Zhang is heading to Tokyo, Japan next week to compete in the International Physics Olympiad as a member of the Canadian National Team.
Wenhe earned his spot on the Canadian team after impressive performances in national and international physics competitions earlier this year.
He placed among the top-5 in the Canadian Association of Physicists prize exam in April and earned first place in the Sir Isaac Newton contest in May, finishing ahead of more than 2,300 other students from around the world.
In Tokyo, Wenhe and his teammates will be facing the top physics students from 80 different countries.
The Marianopolis community is exceedingly proud to celebrate Wenhe’s accomplishments and wishes the Canadian National physics team much success as they embark on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
